Martine Gaillard to MC Induction CeremonySt. Marys Martine Gaillard, co-host of The Score Tonight, has agreed to be the Master of Ceremonies for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum's 2002 Induction Ceremony on Saturday, June 22, beginning 11:00AM. Gaillard visited St. Marys for the first time on Sunday, and was impressed with the charm of the town and with how far the CBHFM has progressed thus far. "I couldn't be more honoured or thrilled to be invited to take part in such a special day," said Gaillard this morning. "I'm also very excited to have the chance to meet some of the people who have had such an impact on baseball in this country." Gaillard will be the first female MC in the 19-year history of the CBHFM. Past MC's include Mike Toth, Rod Black, Brian Williams and Sean McCann. "Martine is perfectly suited for this role," said Tom Valcke, President/CEO of the CBHFM. "We all feel that she does excellent work on The Score Tonight, she is well-known throughout Canada, and she played baseball growing up in Saskatchewan. She took some BP (batting practice) while touring the St. Marys Cement Plant Baseball Field, and she can put a charge into the ball!" A native of St. Brieux, Saskatchewan, Gaillard was also the first female sports anchor hired at The Score. A 10-year radio/TV veteran, she began at CFQC Radio in Saskatoon as the community cruiser girl before taking her sunny personality to The Weather Network where she hosted the stations flagship show Good Morning Toronto. While talking warm fronts and tornadoes, Martine spent two years as game host for the Toronto Maple Leafs which led to her job at The Score. The 2002 CBHFM inductees include Paul Beeston, Cito Gaston, Don McDougall, Dave Shury, Harry Simmons, and Bill Slack
